In this episode of The Chat with Claire Fordham podcast, Claire interviews war correspondent Sue Turton.

Spectacular Sue won two Royal Television Society Awards for her investigative reporting for Channel 4 News.

She has covered conflicts in Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt. and was one of the Al Jazeera journalists convicted in Egypt of aiding and abetting a terrorist organization.

 

The journalists received sentences of between seven and ten years. Sue, who was tried in absentia, led the successful campaign to have her three imprisoned colleagues freed.

Now, she’s written a guidebook for youth seeking to get involved in politics and hoping to change the world.
