In this episode of The Chat with Claire Fordham podcast, Claire interviews Infectious Disease expert Dr. Suzanne Donovan who went to Sierra Leone at the height of the Ebola outbreak where her first consult was for an American doctor infected with the deadly disease.

Dr. Donovan is Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and the Infectious Diseases Department at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. There’s not much she doesn’t know about infectious diseases from TB, Diphtheria, Typhoid, Ebola and Zika to the importance of condoms to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

She talks about the real and present danger of drug resistant bacteria and how critical it is to vaccinate our children.

We’ll also hear about the time a tribal chief in the Amazon personally supervised an Ayahuasca ceremony for her as a thank you for helping his people during an outbreak of typhoid fever.
