Combining his talents, Richard wrote and stars in ‘Sinatra: RAW’, a play about the last intimate performance by Frank Sinatra prior to his first retirement in 1971, imagining the icon’s state of mind as he answers life long allegations in-between some of Frank’s best loved songs.

In this episode of The Chat with Claire Fordham podcast, Claire interviews music executive Nick Gatfield. Nick was a sax and keyboard player with Dexy’s Midnight Runners, before becoming a top music exec on both sides of the Atlantic.

Nick was Chairman and CEO of Sony Music UK and held President positions at EMI, Island Records, Polydor and Polygram.

He oversaw the signings of Radiohead, Blur and Amy Winehouse among many other great artists.

Nick shares his thoughts on Amy’s genius,  her battle with alcohol and everything you need to know about the music business, including his new business venture of investing in artists’ careers, Canadian signer-songwriter Allie X being one of his successes.

In this episode of The Chat with Claire Fordham podcast, Claire interviews war correspondent Sue Turton.

Spectacular Sue won two Royal Television Society Awards for her investigative reporting for Channel 4 News.

She has covered conflicts in Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt. and was one of the Al Jazeera journalists convicted in Egypt of aiding and abetting a terrorist organization.

 

The journalists received sentences of between seven and ten years. Sue, who was tried in absentia, led the successful campaign to have her three imprisoned colleagues freed.

Now, she’s written a guidebook for youth seeking to get involved in politics and hoping to change the world.
